Eastern Jackson County in east central Iowa... * Until 645 PM CDT. * At 530 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Sageville to near St. Donatus to Maquoketa Municipal Airport, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Freeport, Galena, Mount Carroll, Savanna, Lena, Stockton, East Dubuque, Lanark, Warren, Hanover, Pearl City, Elizabeth, Shannon, Cedarville, Davis, Woodbine, Sabula, Dakota, German Valley, and Miles.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for northwestern Illinois...and northeastern and east central Iowa.
