...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... Wabash River at Montezuma, Terre Haute, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton. .Lowland flooding will continue along a part of the Wabash River in western Indiana this weekend, and likely conclude by noon Monday. The crest late Friday evening was in the vicinity of Riverton. Flooding ended at Lafayette and Covington earlier today. Rain chances Sunday night through the end of the week ahead could bring additional rises to area rivers. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton. * WHEN...Until Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM EDT Friday /9:00 PM CDT Friday/ the stage was 18.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 PM EDT Friday /9:00 PM CDT Friday/ was 18.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Monday morning and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
