Wabash River at Covington, Montezuma, Terre Haute, Hutsonville
Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton.
.Lowland flooding will continue along the Wabash River in western
Indiana this week. As of late Thursday evening the crest was
between Hutsonville and Riverton. Flooding is expected to end at
Lafayette and Covington by late Friday afternoon. Flooding
downstream is currently predicted to end by Monday, but rainfall
starting Sunday night could bring additional rises to area rivers
next week.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute.
* WHEN...Until Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, Flooding of rural roads is in progress
behind Honey Creek Levee as a result of two unrepaired levee
breaks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM EDT Thursday /8:30 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage was
19.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:30 PM EDT Thursday /8:30 PM CDT Thursday/ was
19.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Saturday evening and continue falling and remain below flood
stage.
- Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
