...The National Weather Service in Chicago IL has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Illinois... Vermilion River near Leonore affecting La Salle County. Illinois River at La Salle affecting Putnam, Bureau and La Salle Counties. Sugar Creek at Milford affecting Iroquois County. For the Vermilion River (Illinois Basin)...including Leonore...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Vermilion River from IL23 near Streator downstream to confluence with the Illinois River, including the Leonore gauge. * WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water overtops banks at multiple locations along the river near Streator and Leonore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 14.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening and continue rising to a crest of 19.5 feet tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
