...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...
Little Wabash River below Clay City affecting Clay and Richland
Counties.
.Rainfall of 3 to 5 inches fell upstream of Clay City on Monday, and
river levels have rapidly risen. With additional rain expected later
today, flooding of the Little Wabash River is expected to continue
the rest of the week.
The following forecasts are based on observed precipitation, soil
moisture conditions, and forecast precipitation.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Little Wabash River below Clay City.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 19.7 feet, Mayflower Road, just north of U.S. Route
50, begins to flood.
At 22.0 feet, North Clay Road, 1 mile east of the gage, is flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 19.2 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 AM CDT Tuesday was 19.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.2
feet tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
