Illinois River at Hardin. Mississippi River at Winfield. Mississippi River at Hannibal. Mississippi River at Quincy. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River at Valley City. * WHEN...From this evening until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, The road to Norbut Fish and Wildlife area is flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 14.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 PM CDT Monday was 14.3 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 14.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then rise to 14.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall to 14.1 feet Wednesday evening. It will then rise to 14.9 feet Saturday evening. It will fall again but remain above flood stage. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor this developing situation and issue follow up statements as conditions change.
