Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Des Plaines River from IL/WI state line downstream to US-41 in Gurnee, including the Russell gauge. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 9.5 feet, Residential structures threatened along Russell Road between the river and Kilbourne Road. Industrial parking lots threatened along Kilbourne Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 9.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 PM CDT Friday was 9.0 feet. The river has begun to rise due to recent rainfall. - Forecast...The river is expected to crest overnight near 9.0 feet due to recent rainfall. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.0 feet on 05/01/2020. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
