Description:
At 256 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding across
the warned area. Radar indicates between 3 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen in the hardest hit areas. Little additional rainfall
anticipated. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Cambridge, Woodhull, Andover, Osco, Henry County Fairgrounds, Ulah
and Nekoma.
This includes Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 24 and
33.
County Rd 14 closed near Cambridge due to water over roadway. Creeks
flowing out of their banks near Ulah.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
