Description:
* WHAT...West winds 35 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. Localized
wind gusts up to 85 mph are expected mainly in the wind prone
areas along Interstates 25 and 80. Winds will become north to
northwest behind a cold front Saturday evening and continue
through Sunday morning.
* WHERE...East Platte County.
* WHEN...Until noon MDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be
hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including
campers and tractor trailers.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of blowing dust and/or blowing snow may
reduce visibility at times. Expect much colder temperatures and
sub-zero wind chills on Sunday morning.
Instruction:
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or
occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts of 58
MPH or stronger can lead to property damage.
