* WHAT...West wind gusts of 60 to 85 mph expected. Locally higher gusts are possible. * WHERE...Portions of central and south central Montana. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 9 PM MDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Strong to dangerous crosswinds will make travel difficult along Highway 191 from Big Timber through Judith Gap, and Highway 12 from Harlowton to Lavina. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. The warm and windy conditions could cause rapid fire spread in grasses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds are expected during the day Thursday.

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution and consider postponing travel until winds subside, or take an alternate route.
