Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed information about additional hazards. .STORM INFORMATION... As of 700 AM ChST, the center of Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) was located near latitude 9.5N and longitude 151.3E. This was about 520 miles east-southeast of Guam. Storm motion was north-northeast, 15 degrees, at 5 mph. Storm intensity was 110 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) is slowly moving away from Chuuk State, with an expected pivot to the north and then northwest as it heads toward the Marianas. In the meantime, Sinlaku continues to bring periods of intense showers, thunderstorms, and winds to a large portion of Chuuk State, primarily to Ulul, Fananu, and Weno, Chuuk. The most recent storm track produced by JTWC indicates a slight northward shift in the storm path during its passage toward the Marianas, now more likely to cross over Rota. Even so, it is still too early to provide exact wind and surge forcast values for any specific island in the Marianas.
