Description:
At 1020 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was near Louvale, or 7 miles
south of Cusseta, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Americus, Buena Vista, Ellaville, Preston, Cusseta, Richland, Plains,
Andersonville, Putnam, Seminole, Murrays Crossroads, La Crosse,
Brooklyn, Renfroe, Manta, Zellobee, Friendship, Doyle,
Jamestown/South Fort Benning, and Bumphead.
Instruction:
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for west central
Georgia.
