Description: 
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Georgia, including the following counties, Columbia and Richmond. * WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 919 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grovetown, Evans, Fort Gordon, Martinez, Augusta Mall, Village Plaza Shopping Center, Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Westmont, Windy Ridge Estates, Blanchard Park, Columbia County Exhibition Center, Evans Medical Center, Waverly, Westwick, Liberty Park Community Center, Westport, River Island, Savannah Rapids Park and Village at Riverwatch Shopping Center. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 191 and 201. Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 2. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. Flooded roadways are nearly impossible to see at night.
