Description:
At 646 PM EDT, Doppler radar estimates and rain gauge amounts
indicate up to 3.5 inches have fallen due to thunderstorms. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sardis and Girard.
While the rain rates have decreased, additional development to the
south could move over this area in the next 30 minutes to an hour.
Instruction:
Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
