Description:
At 848 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking
a strong thunderstorm over Royal Palm Beach, or near Wellington,
moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Wellington,
Lake Worth, Palm Beach, Greenacres, Royal Palm Beach, Palm Springs,
Lantana, Atlantis, Haverhill, Cloud Lake, Palm Beach International
Airport, Village Of Golf, Golden Lakes, Gun Club Estates, Schall
Circle, and Royal Palm Estates.
Instruction:
These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around
unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the
storm passes.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
