Description:
At 153 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing strong winds up to 40 mph and potentially a
waterspout or land spout around 9 miles south of Jekyll Island, or
11 miles northeast of Kings Bay Base, moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts around 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Fernandina Beach, Dungeness, High Point, and Cumberland Island.
Instruction:
