* WHAT...Flooding caused by a combination of rain, snowmelt, and ice jams is possible. * WHERE...The southwest Adirondacks, the western Mohawk Valley, and the Upper Hudson Valley. * WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Mild temperatures through tomorrow will allow snow on the ground to continue to ripen and melt. Then, there will be widespread rain Wednesday into Wednesday night. The combination of runoff from snow melt and rainfall will result in rising rivers that will likely cause ice to break up and flow, potentially resulting in ice jams and associated flooding.
