...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR MAUI AND NOW
THROUGH LATE TONIGHT THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible. Additional windward showers, some heavy, are expected
this later this morning and this afternoon.
* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be
closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas
may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to
rapid runoff.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Instability associated with a an upper disturbance combined
with lingering moisture and saturated grounds will maintain
the potential for locally heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Instruction:
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
