Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Northwestern Connecticut and western Massachusetts.
* WHEN...Through Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Creeks and
streams are already running high and may rise out of their banks
due to the incoming heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Periods of moderate to heavy rain along with some embedded
thunderstorms are expected to track into western New England
late this afternoon into this evening before a cold front
sweeps through the region tonight. A total of 1 to 2 inches
of rain is likely through Tuesday morning which can lead to
rises on area rivers and streams and result in urban and poor
drainage flooding, especially during heavy downpours.
