* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Northwestern Connecticut and western Massachusetts * WHEN...From 5 AM EDT early this morning through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of moderate to heavy rain along with some embedded thunderstorms are expected to track into western New England today before a cold front sweeps through the region tonight. A total of 1 to 2.5 inches of rain is likely through Tuesday morning which can lead to rises on area rivers and streams and result in urban and poor drainage flooding, especially during heavy downpours. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
