...The National Weather Service in Buffalo NY has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in New York...
Genesee River At Avon affecting Monroe and Livingston Counties.
For the Genesee River...including Avon...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Genesee River at Avon.
* WHEN...Until late this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, Flood stage, river overflows at many areas
from Geneseo to Scottsville, but mainly in agricultural lands with
little damage to structures.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:15 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 32.85 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 30.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early this morning to a crest of 33.1 feet this morning. It
will then fall below flood stage late this morning.
- Flood stage is 33.0 feet.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
