* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern New York, including the following county, Clinton. * WHEN...Until 1145 AM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Depending on ice behavior, any release of the ice jam could result in sudden rises of water, leading to a rapid flooding situation. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 843 PM EDT, emergency management reported an ice jam near the warned area due to Snowmelt. Flooding is already occurring. - Reports of flooding due to a released ice jam has been reported over a campground near the Sample Lumber hardware store. Additional frozen culvert activity has been noted as well. So a Flood Warning is being issued for the Great Chazy River as water flows downstream. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mooers Village, Champlain Village, Champlain, Mooers, Perry Mills and Mooers Forks. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
