...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...Indiana...
Wabash River at New Harmony affecting Gallatin, White, Wabash,
Gibson and Posey Counties.
.Due to recent heavy rainfall, the Wabash River will continue rising
to a crest of 17.3 feet early Sunday morning.
For the Wabash River...including New Harmony...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at New Harmony.
* WHEN...Until Sunday, March 22.
* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Harmonie State Park is closed. Surrounding
bottomland is flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.2 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:30 AM CDT Saturday was 17.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.3
feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage
Sunday, March 22.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
