...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Indiana...
Wabash River at New Harmony affecting Gibson, Posey, Gallatin,
Wabash and White Counties.
.Due to recent heavy rainfall, the Wabash River will continue rising
to a crest of 17.9 feet next Monday, March 16.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at New Harmony.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Harmonie State Park is closed. Surrounding
bottomland is flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 16.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.9
feet early Monday morning.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
Instruction:
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
