...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Indiana...
East Fork White River at Columbus.
.Total rainfall amounts of 3 to over 5 inches of rain across much of
central and southern Indiana is bringing significant flooding to the
East Fork White basin. Additional rainfall over the weekend and next
week could lengthen the amount of time the river remains in flood
and bring additional rises next week.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River at Columbus.
* WHEN...Until late Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 14.1 feet, Residential areas in the Walesboro area
near Southern Crossing begin to flood especially if the reading at
Seymour is slightly over 18 feet.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:00 AM EST Friday the stage was 13.9 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:00 AM EST Friday was 13.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.1
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late
Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
