...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...
Haw Creek near Clifford.
.Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen across central Indiana
as of early Wednesday morning. Up to 2 inches have fallen in
south-central Indiana. This has led creeks to rise above flood stage
and rivers will follow in the coming days. Additional rain is in the
forecast over the next several days.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Haw Creek near Clifford.
* WHEN...From this evening to early Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 15.5 feet, Major flooding in progress along Haw
Creek. Water approaching 25th Street and State Street or SR 46 in
Columbus but both roads remain open according to Columbus Response
Plan.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 PM EST Wednesday the stage was 12.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:30 PM EST Wednesday was 13.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.1
feet late tonight. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
