Southwestern Livingston County in western New York... * Until midnight EDT tonight. * At 838 PM EDT, gauge reports continues to indicate rises on area creeks and streams from earlier thunderstorms, especially along the Canaseraga Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Dansville, Rushford, Houghton, Caneadea, Ossian, Canaseraga, Birdsall, Short Tract, Rossburg, Fillmore, Swain, Ossian Center and Hardy Corners.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
