...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE CHEYENNE RIDGE AND NORTHERN PLAINS... The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 238, 242, 244, 248, 249, 250 and 251. * TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Tuesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. On Wednesday, northwest wind gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. On Wednesday, as low as 12%. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.

A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
