WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE
CHEYENNE RIDGE AND NORTHERN PLAINS...
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from
Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 238, 242, 244, 248, 249,
250 and 251.
* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT
Tuesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday afternoon
through Wednesday evening.
* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. On
Wednesday, northwest wind gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. On Wednesday, as low
as 12%.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a
spark and start a wildfire.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
