Western Kit Carson County in east central Colorado... * Until 815 PM MDT. * At 649 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles northwest of Arriba, or 15 miles west of Flagler, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Golf ball size hail was reported northeast of Arriba. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * This severe thunderstorm will be near... Flagler around 720 PM MDT. Seibert around 740 PM MDT. Vona around 755 PM MDT. This includes Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 391 and 418.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This storm is producing large hail. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for northeastern and east central Colorado.
