South Central Washington County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 715 PM MDT.
* At 627 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northwest
of Genoa, or 10 miles northeast of Limon, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include...
Arriba, Genoa and Thurman.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and dangerous hail.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
This storm is capable of producing all types of severe weather
including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds, and
tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a
bathroom, closet or basement.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT Monday for
portions of east central and northeast Colorado.
