Description:
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning below 8000 feet for gusty winds, low relative
humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 10 AM to 10 PM
MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower
Colorado River below 8000 feet.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 10 PM MDT this
evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 10 PM
MDT Tuesday. For the third Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 10
PM MDT Wednesday.
* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 to 12 percent.
* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise
extreme caution with any outdoor burning.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
