Description: 
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 30 to 35 below expected. * WHERE...Matanuska Valley, including Palmer, Wasilla and Sutton. * WHEN...Until 1 PM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 15 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Over the next few days, expect the coldest wind chills during the late night and early morning, with temperatures warming up during the daytime.
Instruction: 
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit alaska211.org for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold.
