These waves can suddenly knock people off of their feet and sweep them into the ocean. The waves can also move logs or other objects which could crush or trap anyone caught underneath.

At 212 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas over Empire, or 12 miles southeast of Port Sulphur, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Locations impacted include... Buras, Empire, and Buras-triumph. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Clouds will clear overnight, allowing temperatures to fall into the mid 30s across the northeastern Bluegrass. Isolated frost is possible (20-40%) in protected valleys before temperatures warm into the 40s by mid-morning.
