SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 285, PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT THIS EVENING, IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA PERKINS THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BISON AND LEMMON.

At 1036 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Sawyer, or 11 miles southeast of Minot, moving northeast at 45 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR PORTIONS OF MCLEAN, WARD, AND MCHENRY COUNTIES. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
