North Carolina Special Weather Statement | Effective 04/21/2026 11:03
Relative humidity is forecast to fall into the 20 to 30 percent
range across western North Carolina Wednesday afternoon. Winds
are expected to be a little stronger in the afternoon, with some
gusts in the 20 to 25 mph range. The low humidity combined with
occasional wind gusts and very dry vegetation will result in an
elevated threat for the rapid spread of wildfire across the area.
A statewide burn ban has been issued by the North Carolina Forest
Service. Outdoor burning should not be done.
