Areas of dense fog have developed this morning across much of the Midcoast. Visibility may drop to a half mile or less at times. Motorists are urged to use caution during the morning commute. The fog should start to lift after 8 or 9 AM.

At 444 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles east of Oconto, or 16 miles south of Broken Bow, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Mason City, Buckeye, Block Hill Basin, Burr Oak, Gavin Siding, Intersection of Highway 183 and Cumro Road, and Cumro.

Patchy dense fog at a quarter mile or less visibility is expected through 8AM. If traveling, remain alert for rapid changes in visibility and allow extra following distance. In order to make your vehicle more visible to other drivers, turn its headlights on, even during the day.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Bay and Gulf County Beaches. * WHEN...From noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ today through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

* WHAT...High temperatures of 92 to 105 expected, with most areas seeing peak heat on Wednesday and Thursday. Low temperatures are expected to range from the upper 60s to lower 70s at lower elevations to the mid 70s to lower 80s in the foothills and mountains. * WHERE...A portion of southwest California. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. Warmer than normal low temperatures will add to the heat discomfort.

Areas of fog, notably within river valleys, have developed and could impact the morning commute. Visibilities will be below a half of a mile at times in the thickest of the fog. Please slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Conditions are expected to improve shortly after sunrise.

Invest 92W has steadily organized today and is now subject to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center's Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert. Invest 92W is currently located near 8N155E or 180 miles east of Chuuk. Invest 92W is drifting westward at less than 5 mph. Numerous to widespread showers and isolated to scattered thunderstorms are seen along the southern semicircle of 92W. Very heavy showers, flash flooding, mud slides, and gusty winds will continue to impact Chuuk

Patchy dense fog is impacting the Western Southern Tier, especially in and near river and creek valleys. The dense fog will reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less. Motorists should slow down, maintain plenty of stopping distance ahead of their vehicles, and use their low beam headlights when encountering fog. The fog is expected to dissipate between about 8 AM and 9 AM this morning.
