Headline:
Special Weather Statement issued March 1 at 8:49AM CST by NWS Hastings NE
Event:
Special Weather Statement
Urgency:
Expected
Effective:
March 1, 2026 - 6:49am
Expires:
March 1, 2026 - 10:30am
Description:
Primarily between 11 AM and 5 PM, a varied, wintry mix of snow, and/or sleet, and/or freezing rain will likely impact portions of south central Nebraska and north central Kansas, especially some counties along and east of Highway 281, and along and south of Highway 6. At this time, any accumulations of wintry precipitation are expected to be fairly light, mainly one-half inch or less of snow or sleet, and no more than a few hundredths of an inch of freezing rain. At this time, these expected lighter amounts of wintry precipitation do not appear high enough to support a formal Winter Weather Advisory. However, slick spots could develop on area roads, and conditions will be monitored in case an Advisory becomes more justified.
