...A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM TODAY FOR EASTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... .Another round of critical fire weather conditions are expected today across a broader area of eastern New Mexico. Breezy westerly winds and low humidity will allow any fire that starts to spread rapidly. Stronger gusts and dry conditions return on Thursday, increasing the threat of rapid fire spread in northeast New Mexico. * AREA AND TIMING...This includes the East Central Plains (Zone 126) from 11 AM to 7 PM MST today. * 20 FOOT WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 or 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 7 and 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
