...A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM TODAY FOR
EASTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...
.Another round of critical fire weather conditions are expected
today across a broader area of eastern New Mexico. Strong
westerly winds and low humidity will allow any fire that starts to
spread rapidly.
* AREA AND TIMING...This includes the Northeast Plains (Zone 104),
Northeast Highlands (Zone 123), Central Highlands (Zone 125),
and East Central Plains (Zone 126) from 11 AM to 7 PM MST today.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 or 40
mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 7 and 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
