THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE
HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHEAST PLAINS AND NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS...
.Strong southwest winds with low humidity, hot temperatures, and deep
mixing on Tuesday will increase the risk for rapid fire spread over
far west central and northwest New Mexico, including Gallup and
Farmington. The dry and windy conditions will spread to parts of
northeast NM by Wednesday. Any dry lightning strikes that occur over
NM Tuesday, in addition to ones that occurred Monday, may result in
new starts with rapid fire spread possible.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northeast Plains (Zone 104) and Northeast Highlands
(Zone 123).
* TIMING...From Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35
mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 5 to 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
