* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following parishes, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana. * WHEN...Until 630 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 444 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain continuing across the area. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area with a report of minor street flooding from full side road ditches east of Zachary. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in areas that have already seen heavy rain earlier today. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, New Roads, Livonia, Maringouin, Slaughter, Fordoche, Rosedale, Grosse Tete, Erwinville, Ramah, Brownfields, Lottie, Central, Greenwell Spring, Pride and Baton Rouge Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
