Description:
At 1054 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rain
across the warning area. However, another batch of thunderstorms
with heavy rainfall will move across Hardin county in the next 2
hours. Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches have been observed across the
county and additional 1-3 inches could occur with this next batch of
storms.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Elizabethtown, Radcliff, Vine Grove, Lebanon Junction, Muldraugh,
West Point, Upton, Sonora, Saint John and Kraft.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely and have them relay your report to the National
Weather Service in Louisville.
