At 1151 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Delia to 3 miles north of Lyndon to 4 miles south of John Redmond Reservoir, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Emergency management. At 11:50 PM, 70-80 MPH winds were reported at Melvern Lake. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Topeka, Lawrence, Ottawa, Baldwin City, Garnett, Osage City, Burlington, Carbondale, Rossville, Oskaloosa, Tecumseh, Eudora, Richland, Wellsville, Dover, Silver Lake, Auburn, Overbrook, Lyndon, and Centropolis. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35 between mile markers 143 and 198. Interstate 70 between mile markers 347 and 355. Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 155 and 205.
