Description:
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of central and north central Kansas, including
the following counties, in central Kansas, Dickinson. In north
central Kansas, Clay and Ottawa.
* WHEN...Until 300 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1254 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Minneapolis, Chapman, Delphos, Wells, Manchester, Longford,
Oak Hill and Ada.
- This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 286 and 287.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
