* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northwestern Elbert County in northeastern Georgia... Southwestern Hart County in northeastern Georgia... * WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 705 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over the Beaverdam Creek and Broad River watersheds. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding, particularly in low lying areas along small creeks and streams, including Mill Shoal Creek, Butler Creek, and Fork Creek, with rises likely also occurring later this evening on Beaverdam Creek and the Broad River. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
