...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers...
Scioto River at Piketon.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Scioto River at Piketon.
* WHEN...Until Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 21 feet, several roads near the river are flooded,
including county roads along creeks emptying into the Scioto
River. Ohio Route 220 at River Road is flooded south of Waverly.
Scioto and Camp Creek Townships in southern Pike County are most
impacted.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 PM EST Thursday the stage was 19.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above the flood
stage of 20 feet by midnight tonight, reaching a crest of
20.6 feet early Friday afternoon. The crest will remain long-
lived and only drop to below flood stage near midnight
Saturday night.
- Flood stage is 20 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
