Youngs Creek at Amity. .Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen across central Indiana as of early Wednesday morning. Up to 2 inches have fallen in south-central Indiana. This has led creeks to rise above flood stage and rivers will follow in the coming days. Additional rain is in the forecast over the next several days. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Petersburg. * WHEN...From Thursday evening until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 23.5 feet, Water from the Great June 2008 Flood recedes from SR 257 south of Washington. The river stage at Shoals was less than 10 feet and less than 14 feet previous day. The Lost River was low...except for backwater from the East Fork White...during this entire flood event. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM EST Wednesday /9:30 PM CST Wednesday/ the stage was 7.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening and continue rising to a crest of 23.3 feet Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
