Description:
At 747 PM CST, thunderstorms that brought heavy rain to the area
have shifted to the east. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are forecast with
additional storms moving in from the southwest. Flooding is ongoing
and expected to continue through the remainder of the warning as
water continues to drain off from the recent heavy rain.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Dallas, Garland, Rowlett, Wylie, Rockwall, Royse City, Heath,
Fate, Mobile City, McLendon-Chisholm and Lake Ray Hubbard.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
