CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY...
.Critical fire weather conditions are forecast east of the central
mountain chain on Sunday and Monday due to a persistent lee-side
surface trough and ample atmospheric mixing with high temperatures
climbing 8 to 20 degrees above 1991-2020 averages. The greatest
confidence for critical wind speeds will be north of Highway 60
Sunday, and between Highway 60 and Highway 64 Monday.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire
Weather Watch...which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through
Sunday evening. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued from
Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
* AREA AND TIMING....The Central Highlands (Zone 125) from noon to
8 PM Sunday, and from noon to 7 PM Monday.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
both days.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 10-12 percent Sunday, and
12-14 percent Monday.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended..
