Description:
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry
fuels, which is in effect until 10 PM MDT this evening. A Red
Flag Warning has also been issued from 10 AM to 10 PM MDT Monday.
In addition, a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative
humidity and dry fuels has been issued. This Red Flag Warning is
in effect from 10 AM to 10 PM MDT Tuesday. In addition, a Fire
Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry
fuels has been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect from
Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 295 Southwest
Colorado Upper East Forecast Area.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 10 PM MDT this
evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 10 PM
MDT Monday. For the third Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 10
PM MDT Tuesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday
morning through Wednesday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Elevated fire danger is expected. Fires will catch
and spread rapidly and erratically.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
